IB; height 26″ (65 cm), Early bloom. Color Code-S6M; Standards deep livid brown, falls Verona purple. ( Iris pumila X unknown ); Sass-H.P. 1934. actually thought to be Iris lutescens Lam. X TB.

From Marble Iris Gardens Catalog 1952 : Very early 30″,  “The standards are rosy fawn, the falls rich velvety mahogany, the visual effect is that of red mahogany. This iris is one of the older varieties that always blooms early and will make a bright spot in your garden.”
