TB 36″ ML
From Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s catalog for 1982: “Want to see a very dark – “black” Iris? This onyx seems to spring from the dungeons of the underworld with its intensity of coloring. It is as black an Iris as they come – bar none. True, not as black as Georgia O’Keeffe’s “Black Iris” painting but it is a close second. The medium sized flower with extra velvety falls is a specimen not to be mistaken. Passable branching, the stem has two fair branches and a spur, 6 buds. A rich beauty that carries away the “dark” crown – no question.”
Has a double dose of Matinata in its background; HM 1984.
