TB, 30″ (76 cm), Late midseason bloom. Deep purple-black self; aster violet beard. ‘Study ln Black‘ X seedling# 64-13-16: (‘Charcoal’ sibling). Eden Road 1974. Honorable Mention 1976.

From Eden Road Catalog 1974 “Big wide clean flaring and fluted flowers give a really black effect. The black is from the purple side. Beard is Aster Violet and is bushy and wide giving a good color accent. Three branches and terminal. Fertile both ways.
