From Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s catalog for 1958: “Conspicuous fluting marks this fresh toned light blue. A seedling of Cahokia and Helen McGregor, it displays a fine heritage in height, branching, substance and stem. About as near cerulean as Helen McGregor but taller. Butterfly Blue sparkles as if covered with hoarfrost.”
From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1958: “Ruffled seedling from Cahokia, a clear light blue with slightly flaring falls and no haft markings. The beard is pale lemon. 36-inch stems, well branched, and it blooms quite late.”
From Marble Iris Gardens catalog for 1962: “A cross of Cahokia and Helen McGregor, this beautiful blue sparkles as if covered with hoarfrost. It is a light blue with conspicuous fluting marks and displays a fine heritage of height, branching and substance.”
