From Quality Iris Gardens 1938 ” M . 40″. A handsome large plicata with pure white flowers, marked deep blue. The stalks are
tall and well bra nched and the variety is perfectly hardy. It will probably supersede Los Angeles in cold climates.$5.00″

From Schreiner’s Iris lovers Catalog 1941: “About the tallest of the plicatas. A well branched iris of great size whose snowy whiteness is emphasized by the bright blue buttonhole stitching on the edges and the vivid yellow beard.”

From National Iris Garden 1941 :”Tall well branched stalks carry flowers of large size whose snowy whiteness is emphasized by the bright blue button hole stitching on the petal edges. All judges consider Claribel to rank among the best of the plicata color group.”
