From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1946: “A seedling of Bryce Canyon. The coloring is close to that of cordovan leather – a deep coppery oxblood tone, very rich and glossy. Standards are coppery rose-red, the hafts are finely netted with minute webbing and the falls have a distinct frill or ruffle. Very large and well branched.”
From Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s catalog for 1952: “A very rich brown-red with a glossy finish like a piece of fine textured cordovan leather. A seedling of the famous Bryce Canyon, it has the unusualness of coloring of this famous Iris. A nice rich blend.”
