From J.C. Nicholls catalog for 1928: “Fine lavender blue, the falls deeper than the standards. Has good texture and blooms well. The large handsome flowers on tall stems give an attractive blue tone in the garden. Increases slowly.”

From Indian Spring Farms catalog for 1931: “S. clear, light blue-violet; F. a deeper shade of blue-violet. Beautiful. 3½ ft.”
