From Carl Salbach’s catalog for 1934: “A new white that has been enthusiastically received throughout the country. Flowers of pure warm white with yellow center. Well branched stalks growing four to five feet tall. Santa Barbara form. The largest of the whites, and absolutely distinct.”

From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1937: “Remindful of all that is pure, like the candles and lilies at an Easter service. A crémier and heavier white than Purissima, with a rich golden center, flaunted on giant stalks that spring from the broad sword-like foliage of vivid green. A flowering specimen of this in one’s garden is a sanctuary for all visitors.”
