From DeForest’s Irisnoll catalog for 1954: “Height 38 inches. Large ruffled flowers, perfectly spaced on a sturdy stalk. Clean, sparkling Manganese Violet” with blue undertone. Wide, clean haft. Beard slightly lighter than self. Honorable Mention in 1953, being fourth in that year’s voting. Sold out in ’52, and again in ’53.”

From Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s catalog for 1958: “A remarkable Iris, rich royal violet over all. Of majestic proportions, a self of clean sparkling manganese violet with blue highlights. The wide clean haft and the ideal spacing of the blossoms on tall sturdy stalks stamp it as excellent.”

From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1959: “Lovely clear light violet self, the standards, falls and even the beard being of uniform hue.”
