Full Description

TB E W1

A naturally occurring hybrid native to Italy and southern France. Color effect an iridescent creamy white self. Standards iridescent blue-white, fading to cream-white. Falls same, yellowish on haft; veined olive. Beard yellow. Its spreading, open flowers, of opalescent cream and gray-blue tints, are excellent in the landscape mass or as cut flowers. It is sweetly scented, early flowering and classed as an intermediate in size. It is a common source of the dried orris root, which was used in cosmetics and perfume in pre-modern times.
