From Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s catalog for 1952: “A new white ground plicata with maroon rose stripes and border. It gives the effect of red bordering on white; new and distinct.”
From Long’s Iris Gardens catalog for 1953: “A large, white-ground plicata with bright rosy-maroon markings.”
From DeForest’s Irisnoll catalog for 1954: “Large, white-ground plicata heavily marked rosy maroon. Tall and well branched.”
From Iris Test Gardens catalog for 1954: “An evenly bordered new white-ground plicata. Markings are maroon changing to lighter hue giving the effect of pink.”
From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1954: “If you like plicatas and are looking for a new and distinct effect in this line we think you will be pleasantly surprised by this one. The impression is that of a clean white flower bordered and stitched with red. Actually the contrast is not that extreme, for the plicata markings are really maroon-rose – a 3/8-inch border on the falls! – and the wide falls have a touch of gold at the haft. Large, tall and well branched.”
