Full Description
Seedling# 52-20. TB, 36-38″ (91-96 cm). Midseason bloom. Color Class-Y3, Standards wax yellow (Ridgway), falls deeper wax yellow overlaid sulphine. Yellow seedling x ‘Cloudcap‘. Irisnoll 1956. HM 1957; JC 1958.
From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1963: GRAND TETON (DeForest ’56) M-38″. Largest yellow ever created. Flowers measure 7 to 8 inches, falls frequently 4 inches wide. Prevented from being coarse by very wide ruffled petals with excellent substance. A near self in wax yellow with a faint wash of chartreuse. Very attractive, a fine grower.
