From Walter Marx Gardens catalog for 1956: “One of the very biggest of all Japanese iris. A magnificent white iris that, with no coddling whatsoever, will produce 11-inch flowers year after year. The mammoth semi-double flowers unfold atop tall 5-foot stems, resembling large white birds poised for flight. Splendid foliage of graceful arching habit adds to the garden value of this giant. Early to midseason.”
