From Lloyd Austin’s catalog for 1963: “If you like them stiff and flaring, this is the horned Iris for you; probably the most flaring & amongst the largest Iris in my 3 horned races, usually spreading out to 7″. Colored in melting, uniform amber pink, with orange beards ending in pronounced horns mostly ½” to 1″, often slightly spooned or frilled.”

From Melrose Gardens catalog for 1968: “Rose brown self with substance. Standards domed and falls wide and horizontal with horns akimbo.”
