From The Iris Guidebook Rainbow Iris Gardens 1958: “I have withheld this remarkable novelty from introduction for 3 years to build up my stocks for its initial introduction at a popular price, easily within reach of all Iris Lovers. A striking bitone,as my Ektachrome (below) shows. Standards amethyst pink, Falls dee proyal- purple each with a ½-¾” horn projecting from the very end of heavy yellow beard. To add to uniqueness of this new creation, horns are sometimes spooned, somewhat like spoons of a spooned Chrysanthemum.Pollen exceedingly plentiful and will soon be in use thruout the civilized world, Be among the first to use it! Try both selfing and crossing.”
