Full Description

TB 30″ M B3M

From the Cornell Extension Bulletin 112: “Color effect a light lavender, deep violet bicolor. S. lavender-white flecked violet. F. deep violet, tinted lavender at the edge and bronzed along the conspicuous orange, brown specked beard.

The standards are reflexed and the falls are spreading, so that the form of the expanded bloom is flat, like that of the double Japanese varieties. Its irregular markings and widespread segments are distinctive.”

From Indian Springs Farms catalog for 1931: “S. lavender-white, flecked violet; F. Deep violet, edged pale lavender. 2½.”

From The Pfeiffer Nursery catalog for 1933: “S. lavender-white, flecked violet; F. deep violet, edged pale lavender; beard coppery yellow. It has the appearance of a Japanese Iris, as if there were six falls and no standards.”
