From Cooley’s 1934: “We take particular pleasure in being numbered among the joint introducers of this perfectly formed, extremely brilliant red iris, Mr. Lapham has a splendid reputation for quality in his previous introductions, and enthusiasts will find that Jerry is very close to the reddest thing ever turned out in an iris. Not only that, but the large rounded flowers are as near perfection as could be desired. Height three feet, rapid of increase, hardiness unquestioned. We recommend it whole-heartedly.”
From Oakhurst Gardens catalog for 1939: “Good sized, well rounded ruby-red flowers on tall, well branched stems. 38 inches.”
Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1942: ” A bright ruby red iris of medium size and splendid growing habits. It increases fast and is a heavy bloomer.
