From Williams on Iris Catalog 1947: HM, AIS 1941 “A handsome flower of lustrous warm old rose, expressing great strength and character. Distinct from “pink”  or  “rose” iris by its very wide segments, especially the wide falls with a broad haft and by its heavy  substance 36″.
