From DeForest’s Irisnoll catalog for 1957: “(1956) One of the fascinating results of crossing blue and tangerine-bearded pink. Iridescent blue blend; with haft, mid-rib of standards, and border on falls gold leaf. From blue seedling crossed Cloudcap.” From Lyon’s Irisland catalog for 1959: “A large ruffled bicolor; standards gray blue with border and mid-rib gold leaf; falls gray blue, border and hafts gold leaf.”

From Fleur de Lis Gardens catalog for 1960: “Different and unusual! Light blended blue tones with gilt edge on both standards and falls. The gilt edge spreads out over the throat of the flower, giving a glittering effect to the whole flower. Large, beautifully formed, ruffled flowers.”

From Marble Iris Gardens catalog for 1962: “Iridescent blue blend, haft bright gold leaf, standards and falls bordered gilt. Midribs of standards flushed gold with radiating lines of same color.”
