From Indian Springs Farms catalog for 1931: “An exquisite color combination. Yellow, deeply flushed rose pink. 36 inches.”

From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1932: “Three years ago this was hailed as the best introduction ever turned out by the Sass Brothers. The yellow-pink blended flowers introduced a new color note, and it became immediately so popular that there has never been sufficient stock to supply the demand. It is one of the most reliable new varieties for severe climates, besides being a very free bloomer and rapid multiplier. Its future is assured.

From The Longfield Iris Farm catalog for 1934: “S. and F. yellow shaded pink. A lovely blend with general effect a glowing pink. Large blooms of fine shape and lasting substance. Thirty-six inches.”

From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1937: “When this lovely beauty was first shown, it created a furor, because the yellow-pink blend flowers introduced a new color note, and ruffled petals were an added touch of distinction. It has proven to be one of the most reliable varieties for severe climates, besides being a very free bloomer and rapid multiplier. No iris since the introduction of Morning Splendor has been so universally popular. Especially lovely under artificial light, and unsurpassed for mass planting on the landscape.”
