From Carl Salbach Iris Catalog 1929:”A fine large Caterina  Alcazar seedling. S. deep dul llavender. F. livid purple shadings, warm buff yellow at center. Stalk low’and very well branched. Growth vigorous. 40 in. . . . . . . . . . . . . .50c”.
