From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1944: “Very striking novelty in color effect, rich indigo blue with solid golden heart. The falls are actually white, but are overlaid deep blue toward the center. The haft, however, is solid yellow, as is the beard and style arms. This is something entirely different. Quite large flowers on 3-foot stems.”
From Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s catalog for 1947: “A striking novelty, entirely original. In effect rich indigo blue with solid gold heart and white and gold variegations throughout the flower, novel and entirely different The haft is heavily burnished toward the center of the flower.”
