From Treholme Gardens catalog for 1928: “An unusual shade of light rose; white and yellow beard. Medium sized flowers of wonderful form and beauty on tall, well branched stems. Similar in color to Susan Bliss. This should not be confused with an inferior variety frequently sold under the same name. Imported directly from Mr. Perry.”
From The Longfield Iris Farm catalog for 1930: “Flowers a uniform shade of purplish old rose. The tallest variety we know. Strong growing and free flowering.”
From Quality Gardens catalog for 1931: “This is undoubtedly one of the finest pink iris in the world. The flowers are large, of perfect shape and are gracefully borne on strong, tall stems. The color is a glorious shade of brilliant light rose. Our stock is the guaranteed true to name, Mrs. Marion Cran and we recommend this iris to our customers as it has all the good qualities an iris should have.”
From Robert Wayman’s catalog of 1939: 48″ When I imported my original stock of this variety just a few years ago I paid 50.00 a plant for it. Now I have a fine large stock of it in extra fine rhizomes that I am able to sell at a ridiculously low price for such a fine iris. It is a lovely tall pink toned variety that it is hard to beat. .15 each”.
