Full Description

From Cooley’s gardens catalog for 1956: “This distinct Iris is an odd shade of coppery tan with suffusions of violet and brown. It is very large in size, the petals waved and curled in the manner of Cascade Splendor, to which it is related. The growth is vigorous, with tall stems and ideal branching. Named for the colorful Mexican town on the Rio Grande. Height 3 ½ to 4 feet.”

From Marble Iris Gardens catalog for 1962: “A coppery tan with suffusions of violet and brown. The blooms are large in size and the petals waved and curled. It is a very vigorous grower with tall stems and ideal branching. Makes an excellent plant for the background.”

Sdlg. 368B: ((sister of Spanish Fandango) X Cascade Splendor).
