From Keith Keppel’s catalog for 1978: “The ground color of this plicata is an odd soft greenish yellow hue. Standards are suffused with olive tan, the falls with a narrow matching edging and Java brown shoulders. Wide, blocky form.”
From Melrose Gardens catalog for 1979: “We do not like the color of this iris. It is one of those ‘ugh’ colors to us. But, to our surprise, most everybody else DOES. So much for the opinion of ‘experts’! Sandy silt with just a bit of sulphur mixed in the ground color. Standards are suffused with olive-tan and the falls bordered adobe (clay) brown. Nice form.”
From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1983: “Green yellow standards, suffused with olive. Matching falls with brown plicata edges, brown beard.”
