From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1953: “A multicolored blend with almost all of the tints of the rainbow. Standards yellow to light buff, falls yellowish at the edges, merging into violet and deepening to metallic blue at the end of the beard. Standards are frilled and the falls are nicely ruffled.”

From Tell’s Iris Catalog 1951 “Anthony yellow standards, falls. A smooth blending of many colors including a metallic flush of lavenderat the beard – and bordered color of standards. Delightful.”

From Walter Marx Gardens catalog for 1956: “A luscious blend of most delicate tints. The overall color is pale buff with a hint of lilac in the standards and a big blaze of pale blue on the falls. Immense ruffled flowers of ideal proportions. Unobtrusive in the garden but a breathtaking beauty on the show bench.”

From Edenwald Gardens catalog for 1958: “Standards and bordering of the falls are rich, creamy, mellow yellow, which blends into lilac on the falls, punctuated by a blaze of metallic blue below the yellow beard.”
