Full Description

TB, 45″ (114 cm), Late midseason bloom. Fluted and lightly ruffled purple black; dark blue beard tipped mustard. ‘Black Market X ‘Patent Leather’. Eden Road 1981.

From Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s catalog for 1988: “What an aptly named Iris! This sleek glossy purple-black self sits atop tall well branched stems. Refer to our picture on page 42 and imagine a raven perched on high. The modest sized flowers have good weather resistant qualities. Two or three 5 budded stems are produced per root.”
