TB, 38″ (97 cm). Early midseason bloom. Standards dark red, base slightly lighter; falls velvety dark red; beards yellow, tipped red; ruffled. ‘Danger’ X ‘Chief Hematite’. Cooley 1992.
From Cooley’s Catalog 1998: “Royal red fit for a king. The velvety sheen and depth of color are first class. A rich, dark red coloration with clean hafts, slightly lighter on the standards at the haft. Yellow beards are tipped red. Mild ruffling evenly over all. Eight buds on perfectly branched stems. “
