Full Description
TB, 36″ M-L (91 cm), Midseason to late bloom. Standards butterscotch; falls dark blue-violet, ruffled; violet beard tipped brown. ‘Amigo’s Guitar’ X ‘Milestone’. Gene & Gerry’s Iris 1974.
From Melrose Iris Gardens catalog for 1977: “A vivid juxtaposing of golden butterscotch standards and twilight-on-the-ocean violet. Big fluted flowers.”
From Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s catalog for 1981: “Rising majestically in your garden, as if over the bounding main, this immensely imposing rich bitone is a standout variety. The butterscotch standards pleasantly contrast the dark blue-violet falls. Its large flowers with full petaled and flaring bloom are supported by the sturdiest of stems. It is indeed a true pleasure to observe this mammoth beauty reach its full amplitude.”
