Full Description
TB 40″ EM W1
From Schreiner’s Iris catalog for 1946: “A beautiful ruffled blue-white, like an enveloping soft snow spray. The unopened buds are lightly tinted blue but the blossoms open a cool white. Large flowers, strong substance on tall stems, short branching. It is slightly tender.”
From Walter Marx’s Gardens catalog for 1948: “For sheer grace and charm of the individual flower no other variety can match this huge yet dainty blue white iris. Both the standards and falls are delightfully ruffled and on openng the flowers are pale blue fading to white by the second day. Truly a classic flower.”
From Cooley’s Gardens catalog for 1951: “Standards pure icy white, beautifully ruffled. Falls big, broad and pure white. They are waved and crimped at the edges, semi-flaring and abundently produced on stems reaching 4 ft. Early and long lasting.”
(Purissima X Thais), HM 1939, AM 1941
