From Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s catalog for 1988: “We know of no other Iris with such contrast in coloration: the velvety falls are an extremely dark black-violet, while the standards are light blue-lavender. The hafts of the falls could be a little broader, yet we feel this eye-opener merits attention.”

From Pacific Coast Hybridizer’s catalog for 1987: “So hard to miss this, lavender blue standards and falls of the deepest blue black. Not too wide. We hate to keep the price on this one up, but we also have limited stock of it.”
