From Schreiner’s Iris Lovers Catalog 1986.  “Here we have a welcome newcomer to the red color class. War Sails possesses a uniquely different red shade best described as a spicy brick red. No other red Iris even approaches this color. Very tall stems with three wide spaced branches , 8 buds, Good plant habits in vigor, stem and growth. HC 1983.”
Light red, shaded strawberry roan; large rose brown beard. Unknown parentage.
