From Schreiner’s  Iris Lovers Catalog 1987 ” A headliner! Huge  tall spiked stems (three wide branches with spur, up to 9 buds) and extra broad petals make this variegata an eye opener in the garden. Standards are a clear chrome yellow and the fully rounded falls are an intense shade of rich maroon brown.”
